Born Nonhlanhla Sibanda, Chief Ndube passed away on Wednesday evening at Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo.

“She passed away on Wednesday evening at Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo,” confirmed Chief Sitaudze, a member of the National Council of Chiefs, in an interview with CITE. “We are currently waiting for the family to announce burial arrangements.”

Chief Ndube was installed in September 2007 at the age of 22, succeeding her late father, Chief Andrew Sibanda, who passed away in 2001.

Her appointment marked a significant moment in Zimbabwe’s traditional leadership landscape, as she became one of the country’s few female chiefs.

She is survived by her husband and several children.
