Prince Makes History in Khazakstan for Zimbabwe at Chess Olympiads for PWD

Prince Musokeri was the toast for the day for team Zimbabwe as he collected a bronze medal for team Zimbabwe on board three. The team played 6 games and in the process Prince won 5 and lost just one game.

Their opponents were highly rated and in only one game Prince lost a game. He blundered in the last minutes of the classical game as he thought that his opponent was losing on time. It was also his first experience to use the DGT boards. All the games were transmitted live on chess live even on Lichess. ‘It was an experience to play in this tournament and my best game is the one which I lost because I gave it all, said Musokeri.’

Presence Murove finished with 3 out of the six games they played. He was 16th overall on board 4.

Team Zimbabwe’s win was a white wash. They won on all the boards defeating United Arab Emirates 4 nil before drawing against Panama. Musokeri and Murove won their game to save the day for Zimbabwe.

Prince has been playing active chess for some time. There was once a slump in his performance due to drug uptake. Thanks to the chess game that brought this addiction to an end as he concentrated on chess during this time. The benefits of chess are clearly shown here.
