Statement by the High Representative on behalf of the EU on the alignment of certain countries concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Zimbabwe

Statement by the High Representative on behalf of the European Union on the alignment of certain third countries with Council Decision (CFSP) 2026/383 of 17 February 2026 amending Decision 2011/101/CFSP concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Zimbabwe.

On 17 February 2026, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2026/3831.

The Council decided that the restrictive measures in view of the situation in Zimbabwe should be limited to an arms embargo and should be renewed until 20 February 2027. The Council also decided that the title of that Decision should be amended to reflect the fact that the framework only includes an arms embargo.

Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Moldova (Republic of), Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia and Ukraine align themselves with this Council Decision.

They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision.

The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it.
