Nationwide Power Cut Hits Zimbabwe

Power utility ZESA Holdings has confirmed a nationwide power outage that occurred today, Monday, 6 July 2026. The company said the outage was caused by a technical fault on its network.

In a statement, ZESA said its technical teams are currently investigating the cause of the outage. At the same time, they are working to restore grid stability and bring back power as quickly as possible.

“ZESA Holdings wishes to inform its valued stakeholders of a nationwide power outage that occurred today, Monday, 6 July at 1824 hours due to a technical fault on our network, reads the statement.

“Our technical teams are currently investigating the cause of the outage. Simultaneously, restoration efforts are underway, and our engineers are working to restore grid stability and bring back power in the shortest possible time. Further updates will be provided as restoration progresses.

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
