Did Mbeki know?

President Mbeki has done all in his power to prevent any action being taken on the Zimbabwean election crisis until ZANU-PF had made been given the opportunity to make the first move.

Did President Mbeki know in advance about the pending arms delivery to Zimbabwe from China?

If so, were his efforts aimed at delaying matters until the arms had been received by the security forces loyal to Mugabe?

If either of these is true, then Mbeki has not only indulged in the most disgracefully immoral interference in the affairs of a Neighbour State, but he is also arguably guilty of treason, considering the laws governing his actions and the wider implications for South Africa.

In view of South Africa’s record for supporting rogue administrations (Washington Post, 15 April 2008), these are questions that require urgent answers.

Did Mbeki know? That is what all of Southern Africa – and the world – needs to know.
