Bulawayo Agenda offices remained closed after its Gwanda and Gweru offices were ordered shut by the police last week. This has been done as a precautionary measure. The issue of the closure is now the subject of a court challenge by the organisation. Bulawayo Agenda has challenged the Minister of Home Affairs in the High Court. The urgent court application seeks an interdict directing the minister to order the police to stop interfering with its activities at the Gwanda office. The case will be heard tomorrow. The essence of the challenge is that the closure of the offices is illegal as the activities of the civic organisation do not fall under humanitarian work. Bulawayo Agenda is a registered trust and the circular to ban NGO field operations applies to registered humanitarian organisations registered as Private Voluntary. Organisations

It is suspected that the voters roll will be tempered with. It is legally possible for it to be inspected before the 27th of June.
BULAWAYOÂ Â Â
Police officers who voted for Morgan Tsvangarai on postal ballots last week were told to appear before the tribunal on Monday. Police in Bulawayo are said to have voted last week in front of the officer commanding the province in the absence of election monitors and observers.
ZHOMBE
Moses Gurupira, a member of the piece committee in the area in Zhombe under headman Nduku, had both his arms broken by war veterans. This was done to him after he refused to be baptised in the name of father Mugabe and son Zanu PF this morning. Several others were beaten up and forced to defect from Zanu PF.
MATANGA MBERENGWA EAST
Mugabe urges ZANU PF thugs and soldiers to Weed out MDC puppets and NGO sell outs at Mataga in Mberengwa East on Sunday. Several homes were burnt down following the president’s sentiments. Over fifty people have fled Mataga to Zvishabane and Gweru after savage assaults. Meanwhile, eleven people were seriously injured by alleged ZANU PF thugs in Mberengwa South. Four of the victims were hospitalised.
LUPANE
Daluka, Ndlovu, Daliwe and Bhakabandane villagers have stated that despite the fact that they have been assaulted, insulted and misplaced they are still going to vote on the 27th of June and won’t be intimidated by the violence.
HARARE
Eleven of the 14 Women of Zimbabwe Arise (WOZA) members arrested on 28th May 2008 were finally released from remand prison on bail on Friday evening (13th June) after 17 days in custody. Three members, including Jenni Williams and Magodonga Mahlangu, remain in custody in Chikurubi Female Prison.
