UK journos to visit ZUJ

The delegation will come and look at our problems based on reports they heard through the international media and research papers they have on the current Zimbabwean Journalists working conditions, and find how best they can assist. The other reason why the delegation is visiting our Union is that Zimbabwe is a hot spot and they are on a fact finding mission to see for themselves what reports have been over the years saying about journalists in the country. The delegation is not only visit ZUJ but will also have a chance to meet other media stake holders in the country, said Takaona.

Among the four-man delegation will be Abdelkrim Boumelha, the president of the International Federation of Journalists, the Worlds biggest journalist organization with a membership of 600 000.

The key goal of the NUJ project is to improve conditions and the working environment for Zimbabwean journalists. NUJ will hold 2 workshops during the visit and an array of meetings with stakeholders.
