Receiving the award Tsvangirai said the inclusive government was an imperfect arrangement, and was the only logical alternative available to take Zimbabwe out of its economic and political turmoil following ten years of a bitter struggle between the his party and Zanu (PF).
The Prime Ministers spokesman said Hilary Clinton condemned Zimbabwes chaotic diamond rush saying the country should emulate Botswana. She praised Botswana’s diamond mining model saying it was efficient and continued to remain as the back bone of that country’s economy, he said.
Prime Minister Tsvangirai met Dr Rajiv Shah, Head of United State Aid Agency USAID who pledged his support to the Zimbabwe, by sending a team of experts to assess the country’s humanitarian needs.
Tvangirai also had a chance to meet other key stakeholders, including Zimbabweans living in the United States.
