With Glamour Boys Dynamos out of the capital for a date with Hwange at the coal miners fortress, all roads in the capital lead to Rufaro for the Highlanders/CAPS United clash. Bosso arrive at Rufaro with their confidence rock bottom following a string of poor results which has seen them registering just two victories in four matches. The other two matches ended in defeat with Harare giants Dynamos inflicting the first defeat two weeks ago when Evans Gwekwerere struck the goal that made the difference at Rufaro.

And only last week, Bosso fell again to Premiership new boys Shabanie Mine, who are under the tutelage of former Mhangura midfielder John Phiri, at Maglas the first time the asbestos miners beat Highlanders since 2004. Now Highlanders, who need nothing short of maximum points to revive a campaign that appears to be on the rocks, face the might of a red-hot Green Machine.

Bosso coach Mohammed Fathy conceded last week that his team has to start winning if they entertain any hopes of challenging for the league title this season.

“We have to start winning now. The team has not been playing to our expectations. The defeat to Shabanie was a wake cup call,” the Egyptian mentor told The Zimbabwean on Sunday. But this is a match in which Makepekepe will also be looking to extend their winning streak after they posted a 2-1 win over champions Gunners in a midweek fixture on Wednesday. It was also their first win of the season after managing two draws against Douglas Warriors and Black Mambas before being handed a 2-1 hiding by bitter rivals Dynamos in the Harare derby two weeks back.

However, United appear to have got into their groove as evidenced by the manner in which they dispatched Nigerian outfit Warri Wolves whom they dumped out of the CAF Confederations Cup tournament triumphing 2-0 defeat over the visitors in the decisive second leg at Rufaro last week. The Green Machine will also be buoyed by the return of utility player Method Mwanjali who has been serving a two-match suspension after he was given his marching orders during the game against Black Mambas at Morris Depot.

The tough-tackling Mwanjali missed the Harare derby and also missed Wednesday’s clash against Gunners. “I am happy to be back again,” said Mwanjali. “It was painful to miss the two games especially the Harare derby. Every player wants to play in a derby match. I am sure we will be equal to the task against Highlanders. We have to continue from where we left against Gunners,” the soft-spoken star said.
