Love Zimbabwe and pray

zim_map_handsHARARE - On September 26 Christians across the world will be gathering to pray for Zimbabwe, thanks to the initiative launched by LoveZim, a network of churches and organisations established with a vision to invite the diaspora and the global church to support Zimbabwe in prayer and practical action.

Gatherings across Zimbabwe have been organised by Trumpet Call! Churches together for Transformation, a partnership between the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe and Foundations for Farming which aims to equip the Church with agricultural skills.

The LoveZim call to prayer has had the full support of many world renowned prayer movements such as the Global Day of Prayer, who have over a 1,000 co-ordinators, and are in every country in the world. Other organisations such as 24/7 prayer, the Evangelical Alliance, Alpha Africa, Tearfund, Ed Silvoso, Micah Challenge and a number of smaller organisations, have all given full support and are behind the International Prayer Day.

Within Zimbabwe, there has been extraordinary co-operation among the various denominations, with every major denomination agreeing to unite in prayer on September 26. Most churches will actually forfeit their own Sunday services to gather across various centres across Zimbabwe, including Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, Gweru, Kwekwe, Masvingo, Marondera, Hwange, Gwanda, Chinhoyi and Glendale.

As Christians prepare to gather in prayer for Zimbabwe, reports of miraculous healings have been made from the Plumtree Crusade that ran from August 16-29. Pastors from the participating churches prayed for members of the congregation and witnessed healing of the sick and the powerful move of the Holy Spirit among the children.
