MUREWA WEST - MDC-T councillor for ward 26, Passmore Mangwiro, recently donated thousands of bricks for the construction of toilets at Chidiya Clinic after Zanu (PF)-aligned headmen discouraged villagers from contributing towards the community project.Construction of structures at the clinic including two toilets received some funding from MDC-T Member of Parliament, Ward Nezis Constituency Development Fund. Provision of bricks was made the responsibility of locals since the Ministers US$38 000 funding had to cover projects elsewhere. In a bid to sabotage projects in MDC-controlled areas, headmen affiliated to Zanu (PF) warned villagers against donating bricks to the clinic project. As a result, I had to donate thousands of bricks to ensure construction of the toilets reached completion, said councillor Mangwiro.
Through the CDF funds, Nezi sourced 15 window frames, cement and other building requirements for the clinic.
