
The former Highlanders player, whose contract with the Mpumalanga-based Spurs expired last weekend, told The Zimbabwean he was yet to decide whether to extend his stay in the neighbouring country or return home. But the left-footed former PSL Golden Boot award winner was very hopeful of a move to greener pastures, hence his delayed decision.
“I currently do not have a team, following the expiry of my contract with Spurs and right now, I have no plans. I was thinking of going back home, but I have put such plans on hold,” said the player, who first made a mark at Kambuzuma United. He revealed the ambitious side, who narrowly missed out on a play-offs berth and subsequent promotion to the elite league, had offered him another deal. “The club is still interested in my services and there is still a possibility of me extending my stay. I finished as the team’s top scorer last season,” he added.
The striker, who turned 31 a fortnight ago, scored eight goals during the 2012/13 campaign and subsequently finished joint-sixth in the charts, six goals behind the eventual Golden Boot winner.
The Bulawayo-born forward has, during his rise to become one of Spurs’ key players, endured some setbacks since he moved South Africa six years ago. Injury and loss of form cut short his stay at former Absa Premiership champions Orlando Pirates. These have also intermittently dogged him at the Mpumalanga-based first division side.

He has also developed a knack for scoring goals – his club is currently one of their top goal scorers with 10 goals. He was Swallows’ third top goal scorer last season with six goals, which all came from set-pieces.
