The teenager (name withheld), who is a serial offender, appeared before magistrate, Shephered Munjanja, facing theft charges.
Prosecutors told the court that on June 4 the juvenile stole an HP 655 laptop belonging to Davis Masiwa.
Masiwa, however, found the teenager trying to sell the laptop and apprehended him before making a police report leading to the juvenile’s arrest.
Munjanja sentenced the teenager to 12 months in prison before adding a further 36 months that had been suspended from previous convictions.
The juvenile will now serve 48 months in jail barely two weeks after his release.
