Namibia U19 in Harare for cricket tour

The Namibia Under-19 cricket team arrived in Harare on Saturday for the scheduled three one-day matches against Zimbabwe.

The three matches will be played at Old Hararians Sports Club on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday.

Zimbabwe is using the matches as part of its preparations for the next International Cricket Council (ICC) Under-19 Cricket World Cup, which will be held in Bangladesh next year.

In the absence of their coach Walter Chawaguta, who has travelled as fielding coach for the senior squad to the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup in Australasia, the Zimbabwe under-19 side will be under the guidance of Ian Tinker, a long-serving Zimbabwe Cricket development coach.

Alois Tichana will continue as assistant coach, with Nicholas Singo as team manager.

The Zimbabwe selectors have retained the bulk of the players who took part in the Cubs Week in South Africa early last month, with Zaheer Tufail of Prince Edward and the Churchill High School duo of Richard Ngarava and Takudzwa Chakaodza fresh inclusions in the 18-man squad.
