Armed soldiers can be seen in the truck moving in Harare, while in the other photo a tank appears to be blocking the road outside the capital. These pictures have been sent by citizen journalists. This is a breaking story and we will post more information as soon as we have it.

So far, this has been the best sort of coup. No-one seems to have been hurt, and there was some fine heavy humour.
Harare was captured by four tanks. By fhree actually as the the track fell off one.
Dont fee;l bad, patriotic Zim folk. A friend was doing national service in the old SA apartheid army, refused to volunteer to help invade Angola, so he and three other refgusniks got sent on the second course approached, as the regiment had left. Officer course, and all got commissioned. Scouts honour.
He had to despatch 100 brand-new well-stored Bedford trucks. Three caught fire in the yard, maen the wiring. ny never started, and only 15 got to Angola. Mice had eaten the wiring.
Zim mice must be very tough, to chew through tank tracks.
