In the past, the Zimbabwe Republic Police has barred opposition party activities in order to avoid clashes in situations where activities by other parties, particularly Zanu PF, are said to be taking place close to each other with the planned opposition party in question.
Bearing this in mind, police should block the Zanu PF countermarch. Not just the police, but President Emmerson Mnangagwa must stop his marauding youths from causing mayhem in the city. The Zanu PF youth, if they want to show solidarity with their leadership and with ZEC, can arrange for another day.
