s. CAPS’ city neighbours Dynamos were 2-1 winners over struggling Shabanie Mine at Maglas.
Masvingo United suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Black Rhinos at Gwanzura on Saturday, posing fresh questions about Luke Masomere’s future as coach at the club.
It was Masomere’s third defeat on the trot. It appears the honeymoon is now over for Masomere who enjoyed a good run with the same team last year, guiding Masvingo to a second spot finish behind CAPS.
Robust striker Washington Pakamisa was on target for Caps United at Rufaro Stadium, ensuring United’s steady climb back to the top.
In Bulawayo, Highlanders’ revered midfield trio of Johannes Ngodzo, Vusa Nyoni and Honour Gombami finally found their match against the Mighty Bulls who had Clemence Matawu outstanding.
Not even the introduction of striker Zenzo Moyo, who has returned from Cyprus, in the dying minutes helped the home side’s cause as Motor Action defended for their lives.
Zimbabwe Saints continued to sing the blues when they were edged 2-1 by Hwange at the Colliery.
The Bulawayo club which returned to the premiership this year look set to go down after managing only three points this season. Their only win this season has been against fellow strugglers Shabanie.
