JOHANNESBURG - Wilfred and William Mugeyi's former South African premiership side, AmaZulu Football Club, is set to go under the hammer this week as former club owner Patrick Sokhela has not yet paid Pat Malabela the outstanding R26.7 million (about US$3.1 million).
The form

er Usuthu owner successfully applied for a court order to stop the club from being sold on December 13. The auction was postponed to January 10, but Sokhela is yet to settle the debt as stipulated.
The beleaguered Durban businessman this week refused to comment about the pending auction, saying it was a legal matter.
The Mugeyi twin brothers, who are former Zimbabwe Warriors, were plying their trade at AmaZulu after more than five years with another South African top side, Umtata Bush Bucks.
The Zimbabwean duo are now clubless in South and are still searching for new clubs to play for. The Mugeyi twin brothers, were the first Zimbabwean players to win the South African’s Players’ Player of The Year, Top Goalscorer and Soccer Star of the Year within their first year of stay in the SA premiership.
Another Zimbabwean duo of Benjani Mwaruwari and Tinashe Nengomasha repeated the history by winning the Players’ Player of The Year Awards before another enterprising Zimbabwe Warriors midfielder Esrom Nyandoro narrowly missed the accolade in 2005. -CAJ News
