HARARE - Zimbabwe's senior national soccer team coach, Charles Mhlauri, and Young Warriors mentor Misheck Chidzambwa find themselves in a Catch-22 situation due to a clash of crucial assignments next month.
The Under-23 squad has everything to fight for in the Olympic qualifier

reverse fixture against Cameroon set for March 24 in Younde after turning on the power to put a vintage second half performance in the first leg in Harare and force a draw.
The Young Warriors play Cameroon a day before the senior team takes on Morocco in a do-or-die battle set for Rufaro Stadium in Harare, putting the two coaches in a fix because four players are crucially required by both sides.
Young Warriors captain, Onesimo Bhasera, robust striker, Evans Gwekwerere, goalkeeper Washington Arubi and defender Zephaniah Ngodzo are vitally needed by Mhlauri.
The four are key members of the Young Warriors and Chidzambwa has expressed concern over the clash of matches.
“It is quite a tricky situation because we desperately require all the four players, and at the same time appreciate the vital match for the senior team set for Harare,” he said. “For now I don’t know what we will do but we will obviously deliberate with Mhlauri on the matter.”
Mhlauri could not be reached for comment. He is in a difficult situation, recently worsened by ZIFA’s failure to send the team for a friendly match against Lesotho due to lack of funds.
The senior team will take on Morocco wanting nothing less than a victory otherwise they bid farewell to chances of qualifying for the African Cup of Nations after having appeared at the last two finals. They are bottom of the qualifying group led by Morocco and also comprising Malawi, having lost the first match away to the latter. Only one team will qualify for the 2008 finals.
