The stocky player took advantage of flatfooted defending from the visitors as he connected into the net a cross from Cuthbert Malajila to send the Bosso fans, part of a paltry crowd, into a frenzy.
The win ensured Highlanders maintained their dominance over Caps united who have performed dismally against Highlanders who they have not beaten for some time in recent years.
“We played well especially in the second half. The boys showed immense fighting spirit,” said Bosso manager Emmet Ndlovu.
Caps United coach Luke Masomere was not amused with the match officials, his inept strikeforce and also attributed the loss to injuries in the United camp.
“Match officials can be decisive at times as they can win or kill the game sometimes. Also, we did not play well that is why we lost. The midfield and strike force did not attack. Also, injuries worked against us,” he said.
About 5 000 spectators paid into the 40 000 seater Barbourfields, a development that underlined the harsh economic conditions that saw the home team hike entrance charges to $100 million.
