Zuma joined Sundowns from Germany club Arminia Bielefeld, where he spent three seasons. He became the country’s highest paid footballer with a salary of more than R200 000 a month. Although Ndlovu’s salary is kept under wraps, it is believed to be in the region of R150 000 a month.
The 32-year-old Zuma signed a two year deal with Patrice Motsepe’s club after passing a medical earlier on Saturday. He will join team mates Ndlovu and Esrom Nyandoro, as soon as he recovers from a knee injury he suffered at the end of the Germany season.
Zuma had also received interest from relegated English club Birmingham City and an unknown side in Saudi Arabia but in the end Motsepe’s deep pockets beat the other clubs to his signature.
“Before Zuma went overseas I was last person to work with him at Orlando Pirates. I would like to welcome him back in SA. He has kept his South African style of play and flair and I don’t think he will struggle to adapt. He hasn’t lost his touch,” Sundowns executive technical director, Dumitru, said.
Ndlovu, meanwhile, has been offered a one-year extension to his deal following impressive performances last season. – CAJ News
