HARARE – Former Zimbabwe Warriors coach, Charles Mhlauri, believes Zimbabwe will make it to the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola and the FIFA 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Â
Mhlauri, maintained that the Warriors would discover their lost form, and argued that their result against Kenya left Guinea, Namibia, Kenya and Zimbabwe looking for calculators to check their chances.
“If we make it to Afcon 2010 we will have done extremely well. We just need to improve our preparations and help the technical department,” Mhlauri said.
The senior Warriors first drew 0-0 with Guinea in Conakry before mauling Namibia 2-0 at Rufaro Stadium in Harare. However, the winning bubble burst in their encounter against Kenya in Nairobi before being held to a goalless draw in Harare. – CAJ News

Nyandoro to join English league
JOHANNESBURG – Warriors’ midfielder, Esrom Nyandoro, is set to join Sheffield Wednesday or Sunderland before the 2008/2009 premiership kicks off. Â
It is highly unlikely that Chloorkop, as Mamelodi Sundowns are known, would just let their star midfielder slip away. The former South Africa premiership champions are bracing for yet another brilliant year in the race for Africa’s top club championship of the Confederation of African Football Association (CAF).
It is believed the Zimbabwean international would go for more than one million pounds (about R15 million). Â
If his move succeeds, he will be the fourth Zimbabwean international to join an English league. Others are former Liverpool goalkeeper, Bruce Grobbelaar, former Coventry forward, Peter Ndlovu and Manchester City striker, Benjani Mwaruwari. – CAJ News
