In a speech at the belated malaria day commemorations Mwonzora called on the people to set aside political differences and cooperate towards developing clinic facilities into well-standardised health delivery centres.
Mwonzora said: There is great need to suspend political differences and work towards developing the area including the dilapidated health infrastructure.
I urge all the people to wholly suspend their political differences and work towards resuscitating health infrastructure. Our clinics also need to be electrified and need great attention, he said.
There is great need to electrify Nyautare, Nyangombe, Gwangwandiza and Fombe clinics for the cause of our people. Nyanga North is prone to Malaria and therefore calls for people to urgently count malaria out.
Hospitals such as Regina, Elim, and Avilla Mission require urgent upgrading construction if genuine malaria elimination is to take place, Mwonzora said, adding that the local leadership was doing everything in its capacity to help in the construction of Sunday Munemo and Kanyimo clinic.
He added, The local leadership is doing everything in its capacity to help in the construction of both Sunday Munemo and Kanyimo clinic, but our efforts are being hindered by political interference. I am happy that despite political differences, people have shown the common vision towards Integration and development of Nyanga North.
He, however, appreciated the efforts being shown by international partners in making coatermether drugs available in most clinics.
The government and international partners are making frantic efforts possible to make sure stocks of coatermether drugs are in store and always available.
I therefore appeal to the government to facilitate a mobile clinic in Sanhare area as a temporary measure because there is virtually no clinic for the people. While we wait for the erection of such a clinic in Sanhare area, we appeal to the Donor community to work towards this endeavor, Mwonzora said.
