Nengomasha resumed training with Chiefs two weeks ago after he returning from a failed bid to land a contract with Qatar s Al Ahli Doha. The midfield workhorse did not participate in the seasons preamble tournament – the Telkom Charity Cup, which his club won on penalties over perennial rivals Orlando Pirates on August 7. He also missed the clubs 1-0 win over Bloemfontein Celtic at the Rand Stadium in last weekends MTN8 quarterfinal match.
Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic, revealed midweek that Nengomasha would need two more weeks to contest for the central midfield position, which he had made his since joining the Naturena giants in 2002. Tinashe has been doing lot of running at this stage and will only start full training with the team on Monday (tomorrow). Together with George Lebese, who has been out due to injury, they should be available for selection in three weeks, Vermezovic told the media at the clubs training grounds last Wednesday.
We really want him back and we will miss him for the next few games, but we have cover in that department and cannot rush him back. He has no point to prove because everyone knows he is one of the best players in this country, Vermezovic said.
