The showcase that was previously dubbed the Southern African Gymnastics Championships is the biggest gymnastics competition in the region. It has been running for 20 years with numbers of participants growing with each year.
The countrys gymnastics mother board is expecting more than 400 entries in six different disciplines, next month.
Zimbabwe Gymnastics vice chairman, Chris Muchatuta, said so far we have three confirmed countries planning to attend the competition. These are the regions powerhouses, South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe then Mozambique who are new in this game.
We are still awaiting replies from Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Reunion Island and Zambia.
The Zone VI Gymnastics Games is a wide spectrum competition which covers all of the competitive types of gymnastics, which are Artistic Men and Women, Rhythmic, Aerobics, Trampolining and Tumbling.
These are performed at different age groups that vary from the Pre-juniors (under 14 years), juniors (14-18 years) to the seniors. It is because of the variety of styles showcased in each age category that have seen teams ranging from 20-100 competitors.
