The Mighty Bulls are scheduled to play Cnaps Sports in a do or die preliminary round second leg tie. Motor Action were beaten 1-0 by Cnaps Sports after substitute Yvan Rajoarihanana scored a injury time goal in the first leg at Rufaro last weekend. Motor Action director Eric Rosen said last Thursday that they were in need of a total of US$341 000 to enable them to fullfil their matches in this campaign up to the second round.

He however, said for the trip to Madagascar they needed US$34 000. Rosen added that their fundraising drive for their participation in the African Safari which they launched during their awards ceremony last month was not successful hence the need for assistance. The Mighty Bulls had received US$5 000 from a Kadoma businessman which was used as seed injection into their account but the fundraising initiative failed to yield much.

“We need US$34 000 for the trip to Madagascar only but in total we need US$341000 to fulfill our matches up to the second round of the competition,” said Rosen. The Mighty Bulls boss also remained confident of his team’s chances despite starting off to a bad start in their maiden appearance in the tournament. “The technical team is working on the areas of weakness noted in the first leg and we have good chances of progressing to the first round. We only need to have confidence as we prepare for the second leg,” said Rosen.

Motor Action are playing in the lucrative tournament for the first time after winning their maiden domestic league title at the expense of Dynamos last term. They will be looking to emulate Dynamos who have a proud record in the tournament after reaching the finals in 1998 under the guidance of Sunday Chidzambwa. Dynamos have reached the group stage of Africa’s premier club competition on all occasions they have participated in the competition.
