Mutasa pleads for patience

lloyd_mutasaHARARE - DYNAMOS head coach Lloyd Mutasa (Pictured)- stung by the slump in form of his team after a near flawless display in pre-season friendlies and a 4-1 destruction of Algerian Champions MC Alger - has pleaded with the supporters to be patient.

The coach insists his charges “will recover” from the morale-sapping defeat to champions Motor Action last weekend.

The defending champions sentenced Dynamos to their third defeat of the season following a 2-0 win in a Castle Lager premiership match at Rufaro Stadium last Sunday.

Dynamos lost their opening game of the season 0-1 to Kiglon before throwing away a 4-1 lead when they were beaten 0-3 away to Algerian side MC Alger in a result that saw them crash out of the African Champions League. And last Sunday, Mighty Bulls midfielder Gift Phiri gave his side the lead with a simple tap-in in the first half before striker Edmore Chitato put the game beyond Dynamos with a firm header in the second half.

Now as questions arise on DeMbare’s ability to win the league title for the first time since 2007, Mutasa believes there is need for supporters to be patient. “This is just two games in the league and I think there is need for people to be patient. There is still a long way to go and these things happen in football. Every team goes under such a bad spell and we will recover from this. I urge supporters to be patient. All hope is not lost yet. We can still win the league title,” Mutasa said.

With bitter rivals CAPS United leading the pack, the slump in form by Dynamos is certainly bad news to the team’s supporters who, however, appear to be in support of Mutasa as their coach.
