Jongwe eyes championship with Kiglon

HARARE - Highly rated coach Maxwell Takaendesa Jongwe says he has not come to save Kiglon from relegation but to fight for the championship.

Jongwe bounced back at Kiglon after an unhappy spell at Monomotapa had seen him disappear from the media spot light.
He replaced the duo of Rodwell Dhlakama and Patridge Muskwe ,who were sacked last week by the club management which argued that the pair’s differences wer undermining the spirit of the team.
Jongwe, who has been working as technical advisor for the Mighty Warriors who qualified for the All-Africa Games in Mozambique this year, said he was relishing the opportunity of laying his hands on the league championship with Kiglon this year. “I think the position of the team on the log is not that bad. We still have a chance of catching up with the log leaders. I am not coming to fight relegation but I am interested in lifting the league title.
That is my objective. We need to start winning to bounce back and fight for honours,” he said. Kiglon have won two of their last 10 league games, drawn four and lost four and are on sixth position from bottom. They are 11 points behind leaders Motor Action and it remains to be seen whether they are able to catch up with the leading pack.
