Zanu PF youth in desperate attempts to soil name of MDC, civil rights groups

JOHANNESBURG President Robert Mugabes Zanu PF party, desperate to turn back the resolutions of the SADC Troikas March 31 summit, bused members of its youth wing, led by the notorious Chimanimani thug - Joshua Sacco, to try and disturbalise civil rights groups preparations for the summit.

joburg_zim_demoAfter the Troika summit, held in Livingstone, Zambia, resolved to take a tougher stance and called Mugabe to order for his obstinacy in the inclusive government, Mugabe is desperate to get a change of attitude from the regional bloc, whose leaders meet in Johannesburg today.
On Wednesday and Thursday, Sacco led about five members of the Zanu PF youth wing, who attended meetings and press conferences held by Zimbabwean civil rights groups to have an input in Zimbabwes election roadmap, which is still being prepared.
Apart from labeling the MDC with the usual Zanu PF rhetoric of Western puppets, Sacco and his entourage of Zimbabwe-based youths also tried to sell a picture that the Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai-led party is as violent as Zanu PF, trying to sell the recent alleged murder of a policeman in Harare as its evidence.
In his scuffles with civil society leaders, which were meant to provoke violent scenes that would be shown on television by the youths, who moved with cameramen, Sacco had a heated argument with the members of the Zimbabwean civil society groups on Wednesday at Sandton and then Braamfontein on Thursday afternoon, accusing them of getting western money to sell Zimbabwe to colonialists.
“The people of Zimbabwe must not take this freedom for granted as Zanu PF fought for it through bullets,” said the notorious youth leader.
“You people must not listen to the civil rights groups and the MDC because they are paid to do what they are doing, which is to disturb the peace and quiet of Zimbabwe. They are just western puppets and work on the interests of the Americans and Britons.
Instead of responding in the manner the Zanu PF youths seemingly wanted, civil rights organizations called the offended attendees of the two conferences to order and told them not to respond.
The embarrassed Zanu PF youths left both conferences midway, heading back to Pretoria, where they are said to be based.
