Nyasango, who finished seventh and Zhuwayo, who came out 15th in the marathon event at the Olympics, will be among the over 3 000 athletes that will be on the road in an event that is offering $3,000 for the overall winner.
Also adding spice to the half marathon is the appearance of Marco Mambo who finished fourth in the gruelling 89km Comrades marathon in South Africa as well as Collen Makaza, a previous winner of the Galway World 50km Trophy in Ireland.
The women's section too is offering $3, 000 for the first runner home and Sharon Tawengwa who failed to finish her Olympic marathon event should be the favourite should she decide to participate.
The marathon race has been sanctioned by the National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe and is run under the International Amateur Athletics Federation rules.
Grace Mukahanana from the sponsors revealed that, unlike other marathon events, there is no entry fee for this event and whoever wants to take part is welcome to do.
Apart from the main 21km event, there will also be 10km and 5km races as well as the a relay competition that will see each member running 5,25 km.
All in all, the competition has prizes worth $16 000. This is the second year running that this event will be staged, having been introduced last year.
