The Christians, four in number, were arrested and charged for “preaching unpalatable “political gospel” at a church service,” the Zimbabwe lawyers for Human Rights says.
The identities of the arrested residents were not revealed at the time of writing.
In a tweet on Friday, the ZLHR said, “in the so-called new political dispensation, ZLHR has deployed lawyers to offer emergency legal services to 4 Chinhoyi residents arrested by #ZRP&charged 4 allegedly preaching unpalatable “political gospel” @a church service.
“The 4 residents are expected in court on Saturday.”
