Samukeliso Moyo, who has represented Zimbabwe at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and who is a representative of the Athletics Commission, said the slashing of the levy was a triumph for the athletes.
“The athletes can now go back to work. I think the figure ($80 000) is very fair because most of the athletes are very poor and could not afford the proposed $350 000 for each trip outside the country. We had a very good meeting with NAAZ and we agreed on $80 000 for each season,” Moyo said. – CAJ News
