Cara and partner progress (05-07-07)

ZIMBABWE’S top female player Cara Black and her Polish partner Marcin Matkowski progressed to the next round of the Wimbledon double after defeating the Indian duo of Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza.
The Indians suffered a second round defeat in the mixed doubles event.
The unseeded pair

of Bhupathi and Sania, who were playing together in a Grand Slam for the first time, went down to ninth seeds Marcin and outstanding Cara 4-6 4-6.
While Bhupathi had pulled out of the men’s doubles event, Sania has already been ousted both in the women’s singles and doubles events.
India did not have luck even in the junior category as Rupesh Roy lost to eighth-seeded Kellen Damico of the USA in the boys’ singles second round.

ZIMBABWE international striker Takesure Chinyama has completed his transfer to Polish club Legia Warsaw.
The 24-year-old sealed a one-year loan deal from Harare side Monomotapa United and could become permanent.
Legia sporting director Mirosaw Trzeciak said Chinyama was signed to replace Piotr Wodarczyk.
“We were in the market for a powerful, dynamic striker and in Takesure Chinyama, we’ve found these qualities,” he was quoted in a Polish paper
The move will be Chinyama’s second spell in Poland.
He spent the second half of last season on loan at another Polish top-flight club, Groclin Grodzisk Wielkopolski, scoring three goals in eleven matches.
